Movies.app v1.0 | Published by Jeffrey Grossman | Via App Store | Free | Released: 6-26-08
Jeffery Grossman, the creator of Movies.app, contacted AppleiPhoneApps.com and let us know that he has already submitted an update which fixes some of the key flaws we talked about in our initial Review.
You can see some new screenshots above and we can expect the new version 1.1 to hit the App Store very shortly which will feature these improvements:
1) Now auto-finds your location, instead of making you manually input your zipcode (pictured above)
2) Added a “done” button which gets rid of the keyboard on the settings screen, rather than making you swipe up (pictured above)
3) Redesigned the movie details interface to make it easier to see relevant information. (pictured above)
These are welcome additions and will make Movies.app even more useful for iPhone movie goers. We appreciate the heads up from Jeffery and thank him for the early screen shots. It is clear that this developer is willing and ready to listen to the community, so if there is anything you’d like to see improved, post your comments here and we’ll be sure to relay the requests to Jeffrey. Thanks again for the update and we can’t wait to play with version 1.1

I would easily donate some money to this developer if they took your advice by eliminating all the cons of the app. My only suggestion would be to add a link to the apple trailers site for a the trailer and synopsis. Once There, you can read a synopsis of the movie and decide if you want to play the trailer which is optimized for the iphone. Most of the trailer I play, through are not optimized for the iphone (they are pixelated). If you could go to the apple trailers site, from a “synopsis/trailers” link without leaving movies.app I feel that would be a great enhancement.
